Not every day is a diving day (sadly) and not everyone is a diver. Below you'll find my recomendations for other diving activies in and around Tulum.
Scuba divers see Carwash Cenote as a training ground, somewhere you've probably been to many times. But for the people visiting Tulum for the first time Carwash Cenote is a lovely place to spend an afternoon.
Carwash Cenote has a large swimming / snorkeling area. It has an attached restaurant / cafe. A large variety of wildlife frequent the cenote including various fish, turtles, birds, and if youre lucky a small aligator can be spotted in the corner (don't worry, he is very shy and not aggressive AT ALL)
When we have family in town, this is where we make sure to take them.
Average Cost: Entrance 300 pesos, Restaurant varies but average 200 pesos
Cara Feliz is Tulums only book store / cafe. It showcases funky art, really good people, and an extensive book collection in Spanish and English.
Cara Feliz hosts different events on most nights of the week, we are there every Thursday for trivia night! They have multiple rooms for haning out and playing provided games. It is also a good location to do some laptop work during the day time.
Average Cost: 150 Pesos / Person
If art, relaxed outdoors, nature, and yoga vibes are what you are after. You need to go to Holistika. On the property you can find an art walk full of a large variety of styles and mediums of art, a cafe which serves several different options, and various buildings that host events and classes.
Well worth a look! Check out their websites under "Activities" to see what they are offering while you're in town.
